We only collect the information we need to quote, supply and fit your flooring — and we never sell it.
Who we are
Simply Flooring Experts is the data controller for the personal information described in this notice. You can reach us.
What we collect
- Enquiries and quotes — your name, email address, phone number, postcode, the flooring you are interested in and any details you tell us about the project.
- Appointments — the same contact details plus the date, time and location of a showroom visit, home consultation or measurement.
- Orders — billing and delivery addresses, order contents and totals, and a payment reference. Card details are entered directly with our payment provider and never reach our systems.
- Accounts — your email address and a securely hashed password if you choose to create an account.
- Website usage — anonymised analytics, and only if you accept analytics cookies. See our cookie policy.
Why we use it
- To answer your enquiry, prepare quotes and arrange appointments.
- To take payment, fulfil and deliver your order, and handle returns or aftercare.
- To keep records of orders and installations, including for warranty and accounting purposes.
- To keep the website secure and prevent fraudulent or automated form submissions.
Our lawful bases are performance of a contract (orders and installations), legitimate interests (responding to enquiries, securing the site), consent (analytics cookies and any marketing you opt into), and legal obligation (tax and accounting records).
Who we share it with
We share information only with the suppliers who help us run the business: our website and database hosting provider, our payment provider (Stripe) for card processing, delivery carriers who need your address, and our accountants. We do not sell your data and we do not share it for third-party advertising.
How long we keep it
Enquiries and appointment records are kept for up to two years so we can pick up a project where it left off. Order and payment records are kept for at least six years to meet UK accounting requirements. Account details are kept until you ask us to close the account.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it where we have no obligation to keep it, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to withdraw consent for analytics or marketing at any time. Contact us using the details above and we will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with our response you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Marketing
We only send marketing emails if you have asked us to. Every message includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing does not affect service messages about an order or appointment.
